Benefits of Sadaqah Jariyah

Benefits of Sadaqah

Sadaqah in Islam has several benefits, and Allah has promised to multiply whatever we give for Sadaqah, and indeed Allah fulfils His promises. Sadaqah has been mentioned in Qur’an multiple times with its importance.

“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.” [Qur’an 57:18]

Giving Charity in Islam eases hardships and removes calamities. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, Give sadaqah without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity”.

Giving Sadaqah when your loved one falls sick is beneficial to avert an evil death.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Sadaqah appeases the Lord’s anger and averts an evil death.”

Sadaqah is an investment in this life and hereafter:

Return on investment is not something we would associate with our charitable offerings. Nevertheless, Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 261: “The example of those who spend in the way of Allah is like that of a grain that sprout seven ears, and in every ear there are a hundred grains And multiplies (His reward) for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”

Benefits of Sadaqah

Sadaqah Opens the Gates of Jannah:

Those believers who give charitable offerings and Sadaqah in the way of Allah to orphans, widows, sick, parents and the needy will be allowed to enter through Baab As-Sadaqah, one of the eight gates of Jannah.

“And those who were mindful of their Lord will be led to Paradise in (successive) groups. When they arrive at its ˹already˺ open gates, its keepers will say, “Peace be upon you! You have done well, so come in, to stay forever.” [Qur’an 39:73]

Sadaqah creates a Balance and benefits Society:

Sadaqah can be a lifeline to needy people; it creates a balance among the poor and the rich when you give them Sadaqah, including the orphans, by providing them education with a promising future, widows, the sick and the needy.

Sadaqah Jariyah is a way to earn rewards even after death:

Sadaqah Jariya means a flowing charity that continues for a long time, like building a mosque, sponsoring an orphan, building a hospital, planting a tree, building homes, and building schools.

 Benefits of Sadaqah Jariyah:

  • On the Day of Judgment, when we will be held accountable for our deeds, good or bad, and at that time, the Sadaqah Jariyah will keep us rewarding in times of need.
  • You can invest in the hereafter by giving Sadaqah Jariyah.
  • It helps build more mosques and hospitals.

The Prophet (saw) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”

Let’s help each other in this life and the hereafter. The Prophet (PBUH) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.”
